Going Forward:
Going into my second quarter of my pilot study, my goals are different than what they were for the first quarter. During my first quarter I spent a majority of the time writing, instead of reading. This was different for me because it is usually the other way around. I am happy that the first quarter went this way because I wrote two very important pieces, both of which I am very proud of.
My goal for the second quarter is to read 3 books, and write 1 essay on how the first book I read this year, Hillbilly Elegy, is similar and different to the experience I had in the Dark Holler of Kentucky, this past summer.

What better way to earn an art credit than by learning to cook from your mother. My goal for this class was to become comfortable in a kitchen, and develop safe skills handling kitchen tools and equipment, while eventually focusing in on cooking meat. I have done quite a bit of my cooking at Demenas; a local restaurant in Montpelier, and at home.

Going Forward:
My goal for the second quarter is to spend more time cooking at home, in addition to the time I spend cooking at work. For the first quarter is was occasionally hard to find time, or desire to cook at home because of the amount I was cooking at work. I would like to equal this out, and spend more time with my mom cooking foods that we both want to cook, instead of the menu at work. Overall, I think it has been a very productive quarter, and I have already become a much better, and more confident chef.

PE through SNAP fitness
Instead of taking a strength class at U-32, I decided I wanted to design my own workout program, and do it at SNAP fitness. This way I could go whenever I want to. My goal for the semester is to become stronger; cardiovascular health, and muscle mass. My plan of attack for this was to run at least 2 hours a week on the tread mills at SNAP, and spend atleast that much time doing other workouts on the machines, and with the free weights.

Overall I felt like this quarter went really well in terms of working out. I did a variety of cardiovascular exercises, from running to skating occasionally at the Waterbury Ice Rink, and I also maintained a routine workout throughout these past few weeks.
One thing I wish I had done differently was planned out certain times I could go to the gym so that I was not getting my hours in at all different times of the day. I think it would be beneficial to go everyday, at a specific time.
Going forward I am planning to go to SNAP almost every morning with one of my friends, Alex Knudsen. Our plan is to begin at 7 a.m., and workout until 7:55 when I have to head up the hill to school.
